Event Teaser - 9:57 AM 2/17/2010 - Duncan

Cromwell is the kind of town that looks a little bit better in the dark. The main street of town has a number of fine buildings on it. In the dark it is easy to overlook that many of them were boarded up. Few people could be seen trudging though the snow on the darkened streets. One building in the middle of the street shone with light though.

Inside a man with the gold rimmed glasses and plain brown outfit sat nearly alone in the tavern. The building was only newly reopened, and several of the tables and benches still lay piled up against the back wall. But there were a few tables and chairs that had been pulled out into the middle of the floor and dusted off. Two weary farmers spoke quietly at one of them. Loud clanging and banging could be heard from the back of the building where the kitchen staff was hard at work on something.

The door opened just then and a bit of snow blew in along with a short stooped man. He was an older gentleman, and he lingered on the door step stomping the snow off his boots and grumbling under his breath. “Oy, my bones can't take this blasted cold weather and snow. I'm not of young as I used it be, you know.”

Welcome! - 10:05 AM 2/17/2010 - Duncan

I would like to welcome everyone who plans to come to the next Metro event. As you may already know this event will mark the first weekend of a different plot team. We have worked hard for the last few weeks and I believe the event we have created will be something worth attending.

The next three Metro events will be set in the town of Cromwell in the County of Fellmist up near the Lost River Forest. More details about what is going on will be explained both during opening ceremonies as well as during the running of the game itself. However, here are a few generally known facts that anyone attending the event can be reasonably expected to know.

In addition to this, there are a few out of game reminders for people.

Plot staff for the weekend will be Josh Smith, Mike Miller and George Short. Mike Smith will also be running other Therendry plot as appropriate.

Metro is not an automax chapter. Max out can be achieved either by paying the appropriate cost in coin or Evaluate Item tags, or by pulling a 4 hr shift at NPC'ing.

If you are coming to the event from out of state, please remember that the site is going likely have a good amount of snow still on it. Currently there is anywhere from a foot to a foot and a half of snow on the ground. Much of that is likely to remain by this weekend. Bring appropriate clothes and above all proper footwear.

All packets must be made from Airsoft Pellets. Details can be found on the main site. If you are an offensive caster, keep in mind that packet retrieval in the snow is very difficult, and nearly impossible at night.

If this is your first event at Metro during this calendar year you must fill out a Legal and Medical release form at checkin in order to play.

Monster Camp will be set up at the same place it was last event. It will be in the large heated cabin furthest from the road in the cabin group closest to the entrance to camp.

PC cabins will be the two large heated cabins closest to the tavern. Should those two cabins fill up, and only once those two cabins have filled up, then the heated cabin up by the entrance not used by Monster Camp will serve as over flow.

You may set up wards within your cabin by sectioning off bunks using duct tape on the floor. DO NOT PUT TAPES, PINS, TACKS OR ANYTHING ON ANY WALL OR CEILING SURFACE THAT HAS PAINT ON IT.

As a rule of courtesy due to the fact that camp conditions force you to stay in cabins with people you may not know or trust, you are not allowed to attack or steal from any of your cabin mates while you are both in your own cabin.

We are going to have opening ceremonies at 11:00PM. When 11:00PM arrives you need to be in costume and ready to go into game. You do not want to miss opening ceremonies.
