Rifting Snake Style
Rifting Snake is the my personal style of swordsmanship. I have spent the last 10 years of my life developing this style to bring it to where it is today. Rifting Snake is rooted on two concepts. First is the manipulation of your opponent's depth perception to lead your opponent to believe that you are closer than you appear. Second is the exploitation of the opponents defense to easily strike then block in a fluid motion.
Rifting Snake Foot work
Rifting Snake uses horse stance; standing with your feet parallel to your shoulders a little over shoulders witdth apart with knees slightly bent. Keeping one's weight equally distributed between your legs will keep your able to move in any direction quickly. Your shoulders should be a bit forward and your shield a bit out at the bottom. Your sword should be out next to your shield with your sword arm elbow tucked against your side. Your sword tip should be about a foot above your right ear, if you are right handed.
Rifting Snake Shield work
Your shield will cover your body and will barely move. There are a few instances where this is not true though those are tied to specific movements. Simply, by not moving your shield you are not adjusting your opponents available targets which allows you to concentrate on what know available targets you have on you.
Rifting Snake Sword work
Your sword should be treated as an extension of your arm. You should know the distance to the tip of your sword, this will help you judge distance and help you decieve your opponent. There are two types of power that will feed your attacks; Linear and Radial which are similar to a River and a Wave. These two forces when properly combind can produce incomparable speed. This is the true power behind the Rifting Snake style. Treat your arm as water and let the power flow destroying the target.
